The "Best" Sugar Cookie Recipe

 Perfect recipe to use to avoid the “spread” with cut-out cookies

Goes great with Royal Icing on top! 
Ingredients Quantity
Butter, softened 2/3 cup
Sugar 3/4 cup
Baking Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Vanilla 1 tsp
Milk 1 tbsp
Egg 1
All-Purpose Flour 2 Cups
Directions
In large bowl beat butter on medium to high speed for 30 seconds
Add sugar, baking powder, and salt. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla until combined.
Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour
Divide dough in half
Cover; chill about 30 min. or until dough is easy to handle.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough, half at a time, using green even dough bands
Cut dough in desired shapes- place on cookie sheet
Bake 7-10 minutes or until edges are light brown
Cool on wire racks
*Frost with Royal icing (optional)
